every month i think ive gone through the worst month ever but then the next month comes along </3

watching

movies

the day has come when ive watched more movies in any month than tv :D so happy but actually i wanna watch tv. waiting for never let me go to come out so i can be absolutely unhinged <3

> earth (1998): watched this for my south asian history class and i actually disliked this a lot. everything was told through lenny’s eyes but there was really no point to all that and i genuinely hated the ending. the fast forward to present day with lenny all grown up also had no purpose and i feel like there was no good climax/resolution bc i did not like the entire second half. nandita das is soooo pretty i get aamir khan and rahul khanna.

> brahmastra part one: shiva (2022): jesus this was terrible. so bad. writing was bad acting was okay it was clear they spent all their budget on the cast and cgi and nothing else. like how was the script so bad and the storyline so generic. my sister and i guessed the entire plot to this within the first 30 mins. at least we got kesariya out of this bc that song is a hit. its so obvious that the choreo for kesariya was meant to be a tiktok/reels challenge and i hated that. but anyways i watched this with my family and that was fine,, probably will not be tuning in for the next one unless my parents wanna take my sister and i to the theaters.

> fire (1996): this is part of the same collection of movies as earth and directed by the same person but i liked this one so much more. i watched this to write an analysis on its portrayal of sexuality and gender norms so yeah but i really liked this. so simple and effective, the representation was everything in terms of gender and sexuality. nandita das is soooo pretty (2) i loved this. i will be rewatching this one. 

omg i didnt realize all 3 movies i watched were in hindi. hopefully i can go watch wakanda forever after my finals week next week.

none of the tv shows i watched this month really hit for me, which is why i only finished one lol. idk what im in the mood for but i havent even had the urge to watch tv lately.

> kei x yaku: liked it but it kinda got boring towards the end but the concept was good in the first few episodes. i dont even remember that much from it but it was decent!

currently watching:

> the witch store reopens: YONGHEE DRAMAAA after waiting for an entire year,,, this one is fun and cute,, han jiho is ridiculously endearing. this is pretty light and good so im keeping up with it as the episodes come out

> young royals s2: ive been trying to watch this for 2 weeks now and its only 6 episodes it shouldnt be taking me 2 weeks to watch it. but anyways idk why im not in the mood for tv lately but hopefully it ends soon. my thoughts on this season so far are that wille looks so cute with short hair and simon is perfect. i still fucking hate august.

reading

> the american roommate experiment (elena armas): what is going on in the romance genre lately. why are all these new releases the worst books ive ever read. literally this was so boring and i feel like we didnt even get to know the characters individually before they were pushed together and there was no reason to root for them ? idk i hated this. 

> beartown (frederik backman): this writing style threw me off at first and it took me a while to get into the book but once i did it was amazing and i tore through it. so emotionally heavy,, it took me 3 weeks to get through it all but it was good. i will be reading the 2nd one, but probably over winter break.

> drizzle, dreams, and lovestruck things (maya prasad): this was so cute and fairly short and just the right kind of ya that i like. i loved that this wasnt focused solely on romance, and i loved the emphasis on family. it was honestly unrealistic to me but sometimes thats what you wanna be reading. esp after reading beartown. i loved avani and rani’s stories so much. i think this could def become a comfort read.

honestly this was a decent listening month i listened to whatever,, there weren’t any amazing kpop releases this month imo but i did enjoy the woo!ah!,, not as much as catch the stars though catch the stars is just too good

writing

yall i wrote this month this is my first win fr. i was thinking about one of the ideas i had a few months ago and i suddenly came up w a decent plot bc i had started planning it but i had no solid plot.  but anyways she’s coming along slowly! who remembers when i was writing 20k in a month last year </3 im not mad about the slow speed im just so happy i have a fully-plotted idea that i want to write. 

overall

i started digital journaling again a few days ago and i feel like journaling every day,,, which hasnt happened since 2018 when i first started creative journaling. idk what sparked all this creativity but i will be using it all <3 ive also been watching the world cup literally everyday ??? idk i dont care about soccer for like a year straight and then theres an international tournament and suddenly im tuned in 24/7. i havent been this into soccer since 2018 and idk whats sparked that,, maybe usmnt not sucking ass this year ? idk mls is also getting some really good intl players next season so im debating watching mls,,, idk yet ! 

ive been going to the gym pretty consistently and im kinda slacking on studying but im not that mad about it. im more than just academics, it doesnt need to be the center of my world. i have finals next week and then im Free for a month. need to study for the mcat. scared. but i have to get to it. also scared that im not gonna go to the gym when im at home next month. but first i need to pass PHYSICS. the enemy. ok bye no more rambling i hope you had a good november and have a warm december <3
