this month went by fast and i feel like i did nothing but i did do some stuff ?? idk summer is always weird af idk whats going on when i dont have academic stress in my life lol. anyway i consumed a shit ton of media this month but what is new !
watching
movies
ive watched 7 movies this year and four of them were watched this month :D i am not movie-watcher but i didnt wanna start a new tv show while reading 2ha bc no braincells to expend so i watched a few movies !
> black widow: i hadnt watched a marvel movie in like a year before this one so i kinda forgot the premise ? but black widow was my fav avenger when i was in middle school so i had to go watch it. i really liked it ! yelena and melina my loves <3 i really really enjoyed how many women there were in this movie and also the post credit scene ??? will not spoil anything but yes this movie was so good to me :D if only i didnt dislike scarjo so much :(
> words bubble up like soda pop: i love animated movies that are slice of life and simultaneously have plot while also having nothing going on ? they’re so comforting to me and i really have nothing bad to say ab this one ! im absolutely Obsessed w the color palette,, the vibrant colors were so pretty to look at <3 the ending scene where everyone was looking at the fireworks but smile was looking at cherry in the opposite direction,,, yeah,, that means a lot to me. also the way yamazakura meant something different to cherry, smile, And mr. fujiyama but it brought all three of them together ? sometimes a summer romance can be so meaningful :(
> luca: wanted to watch something cute and booktwt has been putting screencaps of this movie on my tl since it came out so i finally watched it and really liked it ! it was so so cute it was exactly the type of movie i wanted to watch ! the ending scene was so bollywood-esque to me but i found it very cute who wants to be the alberto and luca to my giulia ??
> turn the street: seunghun’s movie finally got eng subs so i had to watch it and ykw i think seunghun is actually a good actor and i hope he gets more acting roles in the future <3 the cinematography in this movie was so nice to me i really liked the beige/green tones that were used in a lot of the scenes. plot-wise gin and seunghun should Not have been a thing honestly any other pairing in the movie seems to be better to me,,, jongyoon and seunghun? seemed the best to me but lilly and seunghun were also very cute. i wished it had a longer runtime just bc i found the beginning to be weirdly paced and i wanted to see more of lilly/jongyoon/seunghun :( it was a cute movie though seeing seunghun on my laptop screen for 187 mins was very enjoyable.
tv shows
i watched 3 of these shows in the first 10 days of the month am i ok. and then i watched nothing for the second half of the month so i could focus on 2ha lol. when you’re a 2haist.
> fish upon the sky: yes i dislike nearly every bl i watch yes i keep watching them i am not immune !! anyway there’s so much this show did wrong but the thing i hate most about most bls is the stalking/fangirls that follow the main characters around everywhere. it gets on my nerves and its like not okay at all and when a show puts stalking in there but doesnt denounce it ? what the fuck. pond and phuwin are so cute but i just did not enjoy the writing of the show at all :/
> doom at your service: i watched this in 4 days which is the fastest ive ever watched a kdrama and i Loved this one. idk ive really been enjoying the kdramas ive watched lately,,, but this one is just below run on in terms of my favs. i really like most character-focused shows so i didn’t find this one boring at all and was so shocked by seo inguk <3 im his fan now ig ! i watched this initially bc of the cast bc i love park boyoung, kang taeoh, and i heard dawon was in this too plus txt did an ost so i really wanted to watch. the side characters were cute too except i think hyunkyu/jina/jooik shouldve been a thing. in my head a year after jina and jooik start dating they both realize they like hyunkyu and reconnect w him :D
> young royals: i will cry if we don’t get a s2. i love this show so much prince wilhelm <3 my love,, this show was so lovely the cinematography was so pretty ? august was a piece of shit though i hated him from the second i saw him. i wish this show was longer it deserves more love :( edvin is such a good actor im never gonna get over the difference between himself and when he’s acting as prince wilhelm. also can we all agree that felice and sara belong together !!!!
> 3 will be free: i was looking at my bullet journal from last year while planning what spreads to move into my new journal and this was in one of the to-watch lists so i decided to watch it to take a break from all the kdramas i’ve been watching and i enjoyed this one! i liked it a lot less than i thought i would for some reason but i think its bc i wasn’t in the mood for action ? idk actually. i generally enjoy media w more plot than romance and this definitely served that,,, but still … idk. im number 1 miw fan she deserves the world actually she’s everything to me <3 and shin as well ! i didnt mind neo either and i really liked seeing the mae/phon/ter storyline play out. i actually did enjoy this a lot but it was less than i thought i would enjoy it which is why im so conflicted ? i was also reading 2ha while watching this show and it kinda consumed all my thoughts for 2 weeks so thats probably also another factor that played into why i didn’t enjoy this as much ?
kpop content
watched a decent amt of kpop content in addition to these i also watched ep 1 of saessak harmony, a couple of recent itzy vlogs, and welcome to dreamin land ep 1 ! it was weird watching kpop content bc i was feeling so sad after reading 2ha so watching teen boys being loud wasnt too high on the list of things i wanted to do lol.
> cravity park: sincerely sad that s3 ended and we’re also not getting a cute cb :( but the last ep was so funny i will not lie poor hyeongjun he looked so scared :/ minhee was the funniest though why did he look like he wanted to fight the ghosts ? the other eps were fairly funny but ep 40 was easily the funniest. will patiently be waiting for s4 i love vitypark :D
> dream weekly idol: dreamies are comedians chenle was the star of this ep,, for some reason ive been so unmotivated to watch any dream content lately,,, maybe this is my ticket out of ncity :D this is like the first dream content ive watched since the rooftop fight series,, i think ive gotten used to saving dream content and spreading it out over a long time bc thats what i did during their yearlong hiatuses but this time around i dont even wanna watch anything so yeah i definitely dont care about dream as much as i used to.
> cix million dollar kids: cix are so funny im so happy they got a reality show that lets them show it off waiting for more people to stan them :D they deserve everything good,, ep 2 was sincerely so funny i could not stop laughing cix variety kings ! i can’t believe they played their puppy game on an actual show,,, no words i cant defend them. ep 4 made me so emotional in the last half seeing hyunsuk cry,,, pain. i think my fav ep out of the 4 so far is ep 2 it was just so funny !

i spent 2 weeks reading 2ha and it basically took over all my thoughts for the months so yeah.
> aru shah and the end of time (roshani chokshi): my sister is making me read this series in exchange for her reading tgcf so yes i read the first book and enjoyed it ! it reminds me a lot of pjo which made it so good and was an easy read ! i feel like this would’ve been perfect if i had read it in elementary school but i still appreciate it now!
> any way the wind blows (rainbow rowell): i got attached to snowbaz in middle school do not @ me about reading rainbow rowell in 2021 i hate her. i loved this book though. not as much as carry on, but that book is my comfort book so i do not think objectively about it. i hated wayward son bc simon and baz didn’t have a single real conversation throughout the entire thing, so i loved this book for giving them the space to talk. i appreciated how simon learned how to be himself without magic, and i love baz just as much as always. can we talk ab agatha and niamh ??? hello ?? my fav goat-herding sapphics !! i had more thoughts but i put them all in a cr thread so yes is anyone baz fan ?

> today tonight tomorrow (rachel lynn solomon): wanted something easy and lighter to read after the monster that was 2ha and this hit the mark !!! i love academic rivals,, its everything to me,,, neilrowan reminded me so much of nicolibby except not platonic soulmates and it was so easy to read ! it kinda made me sad ab how much of my senior year i missed out on last year but :// we go on !

um yeah i clearly didnt really listen to any one song/artist/album for the entire month,, except for dreamlike thats one of izone’s best songs lol im obsessed. also svt’s album is So good heaven’s cloud and anyone are top tier svt songs. i listened to so much purki this month i love can we talk again and my heart skip a beat the most off their album but i listened to the entire album very equally. i rediscovered odd eye circle’s albums and listened to chaotic and loonatic a fairly high amt and after i watched doom at your service i listened to love sight a couple times too.
my total scrobbles are higher than last month despite me not listening to any one song/album all month and thats bc i spent a lot of time writing so i would just put a playlist on shuffle while i wrote bc im not a looping type person :D
writing
i wrote my entire nohyuck soccer fic this month ! the one that ive been thinking about since november last year lol,,, i kinda redid the plot and tried to shorten it down to 12-15k but it still ended up being 20k T_T. i spent nearly all month working on it so i didnt get around to editing oats but thats what i’ll focus on next month! i did camp nano but it was really just me recording my wc everyday to motivate me lol,,, my goal was 20k and i hit it :D not expecting to write this much in a month again until december but sometimes when im stressed i end up writing more than i mean to so we’ll see !
overall
this month went by pretty quick and i feel like i didnt consume that much media but then i remember that i literally read a book longer than the bible, watched 4 movies and wrote an entire 20k fic. i also went to the beach and actually started being productive so thats a win for me :D i watched a bunch of the olympic events esp volleyball and gymnastics <3 i set up my new bullet journal for the second half of the year and pondered over my new planning system for next year for so long lol i need help but yeah ! im sure these roundups will get shorter bc me consuming less media = me being better mentally and will probably get posted later starting next month when college starts again… but what can you do.

and i totally get u abt 3wbf like it is a Lot of action (that's kind of bad and silly at times) so even tho i loved it, i can see why it isn't for everyone T_T but yeah miw is sooo perfect, they did such a great job with her character imo.
