one of these months i will actually try to watch movies. not this month. or next. but some month i will do it.
> shang-chi and the legend of ten rings: spontaneously watched this w my family when i came home from college for the weekend and i loved it tbh. one of the best mcu movies ever. i will admit that it was so weird to see like gen z type humor and then immediately switch over to the ta-lo scenes w magical animals and ig that was a little jarring but i still loved it :D i know everyone obviously liked the shaun/katy content but i am a xialing/katy fan :D
tv shows
this section is so sad omg i have never watched this little tv before lol but my attention span this month was horrifyingly low this entire roundup is saved only by the kpop content section. when im stressed i either watch so much tv that it’s insane or i watch nothing at all and this month leaned towards the latter lol. hope next month’s better <3
> couple of mirrors: i liked this one! it took me like 3 weeks to watch idk why bc it wasnt boring or anything,,, but i really enjoyed this one and the next season better have less men and more you yi and yan wei screentime. the moral of this show to me is that no man can be trusted like …. spoilers how tf is zhou heng gonna kidnap a baby a minute after he’s born and try to kill you yi in the same breath like . men are evil. also jiang bin is an ally to you yi and yan wei i will pretend that he’s not trying to convict yan wei and that he’s really just their bff.

watched like no tv this month so we all know that means i will be watching kpop content and i watched a decent amt ! in addition to whatever i have below i also watched cix idol ability market, purki freezetag dance, cix dance alright, stayc & cix mobidic and like other random videos lol i loved stayc and purki this month ! still behind on cix content but it’ll be there for whenever i wanna watch <3
> cix weekly idol: cix are so funny to me and this was the first cix content i watched in like forever so it felt so good to see them again ! hyunsuk dethroning baejin as the leg king was so funny and baejin accidentally kicking hyunsuk and then immediately checking to make sure he was okay ?? yoonbae are so dear to me <3
> stayc weekly idol: please ignore me watching weekly idol for every group ever i just think it’s so easy to pay attention to and it never gets boring. anyway stayc are so funny i love their dynamics omg. this is the first stayc content ive watched and they are so lovely to me we may have to stan i have heart eyes for sumin. also yoon the balloon stealer was so unexpected but i love seeing ggs get to be as chaotic as bgs without having to worry about being “ladylike” :D

reading
books
spent 3 weeks reading the silvered serpents and i just hit the halfway point. i love the characters but i dont think the writing style is for me :( will still be reading the rest of the series lol
> ace of spades: this book is soooo good. every time i was like “there’s no way anyone else can betray them” and then someone betrayed them. i love that both chiamaka and devon were so unapologetic and i loved seeing chiamaka having the last laugh at the end of the book. the whole social eugenics thing was so interesting/horrifying to read and i definitely wanna do more research into it esp bc my socy class was just talking about eugenics + race the other day. this book addressed so much heavy stuff but it didn’t feel like a depressing book, instead it made me want to learn more ? which i always appreciate so yes <3 read ace of spades it’s one of the best books that’s come out this year so far.
> take a hint, dani brown: i started reading the silvered serpents but it had been 2 weeks and i still wasn’t at the halfway mark so i decided to take a break and read a cute romance and this hit the mark ! i think i ended up liking this more than i thought i would because the characters weren’t white ? like the mc is a bi black woman and the love interest is a muslim pakistani and idk this book is a lot more relatable than white ppl romance. also i Loved the way this dealt with anxiety and zaf’s dad and brother’s deaths. i loved when zaf said that when you were in love w a person you would want to compromise and make them happy at the beginning of the book and the epilogue being Just that. yeah. im a sucker for that. i loved dani too. ok hopefully i will finish the silvered serpents soon.

i feel like this entire roundup is making me look like a huge swith and honestly,,, i love them i am swith. the sticker album got wayyy too high bc i just put it on my monthly playlist and it came on shuffle way too much. i ended up skipping like every song that’s not magic carpet ride but anyways ! other than that i think this is fairly accurate. i would also like to highlight HATE THAT - KEY, TAEYEON bc it’s amazing. literally such a good song. im obsessed.
writing
i’ve written more than i expected this month? i worked on bbangnyukyu assassins all month and for some reason i wrote like 1k words a lot of days ??? i set my target wc to be 10k tentatively, i wasnt gonna be upset if i didnt meet it, but then i ended up writing over 20k? i think i’ve found recently that outlining/plotting the entire fic before starting to write it really streamlines my writing process. before, i would outline up to the climax, but then i would have to come up w plot points/the ending while i was writing, which was hard bc im already bad at thinking of satisfactory endings, and having to write while outlining was just really hard and counterproductive. so yeah ! this seems obvious but outlining the entire fic before i start writing is doing wonders for my productivity and i can use the ‘extra time’ to think of things i wanna add/take out.
im also nearly done w this fic, i wrote so much this month so i only have like a handful of scenes to finish next month. on the other hand, i didn’t put up any chapters of oats this month just bc i was so preoccupied w school + espionage. i will def make up for it in october. my fall break is oct 7-8 so if i dont get a chapter up before then, i’ll def get one up then.
overall
i wanna watch actual tv next month.. i wanna watch hometown cha cha cha,, ive gotten every type of spoiler for squid game so idk if i’ll watch it,,, it’s so crazy how popular it’s gotten though. i’m also watching don’t say no rn (do not inbox me about my bad taste I KNOW…..) i need to finish the silvered serpents asap and i also wanna read more news articles ? my school got all of us a nyt subscription for free so i wanna use it and read more articles and not rely on twitter and my parents for news. anyways. i wanna finish espionage which shouldn’t be hard and post a few oats chapters. next month is my midterms month though so yeah idk if i’ll do any of this tbh. this month has been super busy and ive been on the verge of a breakdown for like 2 weeks now so we’ll see what pushes me off the edge. fall break is next week though so i am holding onto that as a lifeline … i hope everyone had a good september and has an even better october <3
