january was legit 3 months wrapped into one and i cant even say it was that great lol. also not at the way i never make any of the other dw posts i say i will but you’ll never catch me missing a monthly roundup post <3 the one constant in my life <3

> w - two worlds apart: genuinely cant believe that was this month,,, anyways this was okay the acting was good but i remember kinda being let down by the ending,,, though i barely remember what happened in this lol. 

> kieta hatsukoi: this one was okay too,, also cant really remember what happened but it was cute i liked aoki but i think the real star of the show was hashimoto san she was everything best girl i cared more about her than i cared about ida or akkun. this was cute and short and i enjoyed it !

> bad buddy: i got very attached to this show lol but i did really like it overall <3 the entire cast was so good to me i wanna see some of these actors act w each other again. i dont really have much to say that i havent already said but this was exactly what i needed when i started watching it, and it didnt disappoint it was cute and funny and fun to watch every week ! also the way at the end both pat and pran’s parents knew about their relationship but didnt ever say anything about it, positive or negative, erm well why do i relate to that so much . i think thats something thats so common in asian families like parents will either flat out ignore it or just silently support from the side ?

> utsukushii kare: this was so weird but also intriguing the devotion trope was kinda wack and i didnt like seeing hira getting stepped all over but kiyoi’s confession scene in the last ep was so good it kinda saved the show for me. he really acted his heart out in that scene and it was so good it was like one of the only scenes that i really Really liked. 

> our beloved summer: i watched this in a week and loved it. kinda didnt want to watch this bc i hated dami’s character in itaewon class and i feel like she always chooses like very strong roles ? but im yeonsu lover. ung was so cute too choi wooshik actually looks like a puppy and im kinda obsessed w ung’s character. ive really been enjoying the exes trope and i liked how everything played out. also im nj and chaeran and soli and yeonsu fan why were the women in this show so perfect i loved them all  so much. also seunghun saying he wants to do an obs reenacting w himself as ung… i nominate yonghee to be his yeonsu yonghee is also very good at school :D

kpop content

i go through periods where i watch so so so much kpop variety all over the course of a few weeks and then not watch anything for like 2 months and rn im not watching anything at all. the few kpop videos i did watch were all p1harmony bc as usual i got sucked back into them during their cb !! i watched their weekly idol ep, idol ability market, and then a few other misc videos from dilt era. love p1h i think they’ve made their way onto my permanent stan list after this era <3

books

i think the theme of my reading so far this year is just reading books ive seen ppl talk ab but havent ever been interested in reading before ? bc none of the books i read this month were even on my tbr? also who remembers when i said i wanted to read at least 1 nonfiction book a month ? well i didnt read a single one this month but i did so much reading for my psych and women & gender studies classes so i feel like that should kinda count. 

> if we were villains (m. l. rio): im not even that into dark academia but i did really enjoy this book. it was actually fairly predictable like i guessed almost all of the major plot points but the way it was written was so intriguing. the constant shakespeare quotes made it so good and like its meant to be pretentious, and knowing that just gives it a different vibe. i loved james though, easily my fav character and the ending,,, i will choose to look at it like an open ending :D i think you would enjoy this book if you do like slower books w prose on the more flowery side. 

> the love hypothesis (ali hazelwood): i started reading 2 other books between iwwv and this one but i could only read so much about pained white boys before it became too much for me lmao. not that this book was any better. i needed something to get me out of my mild reading slump and i read this book and didnt even like it that much ? getting real sick of all the characters in romance books being white w the singular poc character as the mc’s best friend. also all the queer ppl calling romance authors out on twt are so right bc why do romance authors Emphasize the size difference between the mc and li so much like it gets excessive after a point and i just wish romances had more diversity in them. on the race front and the sexuality front and the gender front. also i thought i was gonna have a more sophisticated reading palate this year but that is clearly not happening anymore lol

> the inheritance games (jennifer lynn barnes):  chose this book by scrolling down my goodreads friends updates page and choosing the first book that had an interesting cover :D after i started reading this i realized that i wanted to read something more action/adventure style so this was perfect for getting out of my slump. and it was decent ! the actual puzzles/games parts were done well and i really liked that. the romance was so unnecessary to me and i kinda wish it wasnt even there. also assuming avery is the same age as xander since he’s in her classes, why is she as a 16/17 year old getting involved w jameson and grayson who are both adults ? idk the romance was annoying to me and xander is easily the most interesting hawthorne. 

currently reading:

> daisy jones & the six (taylor jenkins reid): this one also follows the pattern of me reading things that arent on my tbr. anyways im still reading this but i hate the interview format its so hard for me to get through lol. i think i just like description too much to read a book without it. but also i dnfed evelyn hugo on my first try so i’ll come back to this one and try to finish it up,, hopefully i’ll like it more ? idk maybe taylor jenkins reid books wont ever work for me on the first read. it’s not that appealing to me rn i do not care ab the drug usage and touring daisy jones & the six did for years. atm im not getting why ppl sing praises for this book lol.

> these violent delights (micah nemerever): im actually enjoying this one but i had to put it on hold bc again i could only read ab so many pained white boys… and i needed something w more of a plot. im like 10% in so i dont have too many opinions on it yet !

> the hawthorne legacy (jennifer lynn barnes): all the reviews for this book say it falls flat in comparison to tig so… lol we’ll see. i just started this like 2 days ago and ive been reading rlly slow lately but it’s alright so far !

> don't need no body (nobody but you) - popliar (littlerhymes), tullycat: i loved this fic,, i will eat up any fic where jaehyun is whipped for jacob and also the sangnyu i liked a lot !! i will read anything both of these writers put out and they never disappoint <3

> sweet like apple pie - purpletulips: read this on the way home from india and was silently freaking out in the middle of the flight in the dark while basically everyone else was sleeping,, but kyuhak ? one of my new fav pairings ??? i loved how this was written i could basically visualize everything so well and haknyeon enjoying changmin being mean to him,,, me too. 

> summer time (you make me fly) - merryofsoul: canon compliant milhak on haknyeon’s farm,,, yeah i ate this up it had all of my fav things. 

> promise not to promise any more - ratherunncessary: this opened my eyes to taebin,, i am Seeing, i am enjoying,, anyways i really liked this one !

i also read a few various p1h fics but the tag is so dry can we get some more p1h fics,,, possibly some 01 line poly perhaps ?

writing

there was no writing going on this month lmfao. sangric actors has been done for So long but i got it into my head that it didnt flow together too well so i keep reading over it and trying to fix it but i think im making it worse. will just have to close my eyes and post it one day just so i can get it off my hands. 

also randomly started writing a chaeran/jiwoong fic bc i knew there wouldnt be a lot of romantic development for them in like the last 2 eps of obs and this is sitting at like 1.5k rn. i wanna post Something just so i can get rid of whatever this little mental block i have going on rn. hopefully i can try to write something easy and short that i actually feel passionate ab bc nothing is calling me to it rn and i hate not having something i want to write. 

overall

spent the first week traveling and then college started and then its just been kinda wild idk i feel like ive been in school for months already but its been 3 weeks. was doing ok mentally for most of this month but ive kinda been feeling a bit off the last week ? i think december + the beginning of january was so hectic for me and i was consuming a lot of media and now im back in school and all the tv i was keeping up w ended and i caught up w all the fics i wanted to so now im feeling kinda empty i guess ? as soon as i get back into schoolwork and start new media i’ll be good im pretty sure. i hope everyone had a good january !! the sun is setting later and later each day and its making me so HAPPY ! im just girl who needs sunlight for serotonin :) also happy hunhee month i love my february babeys <3
